Background of the Study
Global economic integration has reshaped national economies by promoting free trade, capital mobility, and the harmonization of financial regulations. In Lagos State, these dynamics have driven domestic financial reforms aimed at modernizing banking systems, increasing transparency, and attracting foreign investment (Lewis, 2023). This study examines the extent to which global economic integration influences domestic financial reforms in Lagos State, focusing on policy changes, regulatory adjustments, and market liberalization measures. The research evaluates how these reforms impact financial stability, investor confidence, and overall economic growth. Through an analysis of financial data, regulatory frameworks, and stakeholder interviews, the study provides a comprehensive overview of how international economic forces drive domestic policy shifts and reform initiatives (Mitchell, 2024; Owens, 2025).
Statement of the problem
Despite significant progress in financial reforms driven by global economic integration, Lagos State faces challenges in achieving consistent and effective outcomes. Critics argue that while integration promotes market efficiency and transparency, local regulatory capacity and infrastructural deficiencies often hinder the full implementation of these reforms (Lewis, 2023). This study addresses whether current domestic financial reforms in Lagos State effectively respond to the pressures of global economic integration or if persistent institutional weaknesses and market volatility limit their impact (Mitchell, 2024).

To analyze the impact of global economic integration on financial reforms in Lagos State.
To assess the effectiveness of regulatory changes in promoting market stability.
To propose measures for enhancing the domestic financial system.

Significance of the Study
This study is significant as it provides critical insights into the effects of global economic integration on domestic financial reforms, guiding policymakers to strengthen regulatory frameworks and foster sustainable economic growth in Lagos State (Owens, 2025).
Scope and Limitations of the Study:
Limited to the evaluation of domestic financial reforms in Lagos State; broader macroeconomic impacts are not examined.
